3.10 Who am I and where am I?

  • The whoami command will tell us who we are in the terminal in which we are, that is, our Username.
  • The who command tells us who is connected to the system at a time certain.
  • The w command is a variation of the previous one that allows you to provide other kind of information, such as the command that users are running.

 

Similarly, when we want to know what tour we have done through the hard disk (the path of our directory, for example), we will write pwd.
