An example of collaborative work
One of the objectives of the DEMETER project, in addition to improving the skills of our students, is raising awareness about the problem of anti-personnel mines.
Apart from this, collaborative work not only with classmates but also with students from other countries is one of the fundamental objectives of the DEMETER project. The joint work between students from different countries makes them feel more motivated and that their work is more valued.
Anti-personnel mines are devices that have been created over many centuries in different ways in order to injure the opposing army and thus slow it down.
In Europe, mines have been a problem, for example in Denmark, and they continue to be today as in parts of the Balkans.
A study proposed by the teachers Cecilia Granlund and Kalle Åkerlund from the Wijmanska school in Västerås (Sweden) was for their students to make an infographic on the most common types of antipersonnel mines that exist.
Among all the works, the infographic of Sali Ainasrallah and Ebba Wolfbrandt was taken as an example of a good poster. Ebba is studying technology science to become a civil engineer and Sali is studying to become an architect.
In the featured image, can be seen the two swedish students together with the poster (infographic) they made. Infographics have the advantage of capturing the reader’s attention and allow you to assimilate much more information than a text in a relatively short time. It is also a synthesis work that involves the student knowing the subject in depth in order to make a mental composition of it as a summary with images and text.
Later, the web application development students in Estepona (Spain) took this poster as the basis for creating a web page in which the content would appear in a more interactive way with the knowledge they have acquired during the course.
